MéLisa Lomelino - Creator of "The Odd Squad"
Growing up in a small farm town left much to be imagined for MéLisa. Bored with the cornfields that surrounded her, she began to create her own worlds where characters were alive and she controlled the plot and fate of them all. More than imaginary friends she created scenarios and acted them out on her front lawn like a scary schizo next door neighbor.
MéLisa loved children’s television shows as a kid and still watches them now sometimes even without her kids. In high school she took her fascination with entertainment and applied it to acting in plays, writing comedic shorts, and choreographing dance routines. She went on to perform in rock bands and act in various indie films and sketch comedy shows, but came to realize she was more of a “pull-the-strings” kind of girl.
MéLisa’s love for entertaining and nurturing children has influenced all aspects of her life. The Odd Squad is MéLisa's fifth webseries that she has written and produced. MéLisa is so grateful to the cast and crew for making her vision come to life. She thanks her imaginative, hyperactive children for some of her best story ideas.
